I was born directly on the mission field where ministry was my normal. I was a pastor's kid that always knew the Sunday school answers and served in every area that was needed. Through my parent's example and guidance I accepted Jesus into my life at a young age because I understood who God was and what Jesus did for me. Unfortunately throughout my teenage years I found myself playing the "christain part" and not living with integrity. It wasn't until I was 17 when I fully understood how to have an intentional and personal relationship with God. Ever since then I have been trying my best to follow the path that He has for me.

After high school, I moved to the United States to do a residency in media and worship at a Church in Ohio. I was able to continue to pursue my love for media by working as a full-time freelance video editor, showing Christ's love to those who may never encounter it in their day to day lives.

I grew up going to church on a regular basis, but it became the first thing to go as our schedules got busier. I never understood the idea of living out my faith until I started going to youth group in 7th grade. There, I learned how to have a relationship with Jesus and was able to surround myself with people who would spur me on in my faith. My sophomore year of high school, I decided to transfer to a private christian school. It was there that I began taking mission trips to (you guessed it) Costa Rica! I went on 3 separate trips and an internship working with Matt's family and it was there that I began to sense the Lord calling me to full time ministry. I decided to pursue this in college, and although I couldn't necessarily study ministry on my campus, I decided to start a women's ministry on my campus called Delight Ministries. I continued to work for Delight for 2 years post-grad, both regionally overseeing chapters and then doing Donor Development at their Headquarters.

 

After getting married, we both sensed that eventually the Lord would call us back to the missions field in Costa Rica. This summer, we both felt the call to move back and work for Matthew's family's ministry.
